MEMORANDUM
TO: All Faculty and Staff
FROM: Dr. Timothy M. Chester, Chief Information Officer
RE: C2C Discussion Lists Now Available
In order to better engage our community of faculty and staff regarding our C2C systems for Finance, Human Resources, and Student Information, the Information Technology Division has acquired and installed a Listserv collaboration tool for use by the campus at large. This software allows for the creation and management of email-based discussion groups.
We have used this software to create separate discussion groups (lists) for the C2C Finance System, the C2C Human Resources System, and the C2C Student Information System. The purpose of each of these discussion groups is to provide an email-based mechanism for discussion, questions, and announcements related to the C2C project. The lists will be monitored by our C2C staff trainers, who will monitor and participate as necessary to support our faculty and staff.
These lists can be useful for:
These lists are NOT designed for:
For the first three items listed above, faculty and staff should continue to call our Information Technology Help Desk at 310-506-HELP. For the last item, faculty and staff should continue to work with our Office of Financial Planning, our Human Resources Department, or in the case of the student implementation project, core team members who are actively participating in the governance of the C2C project.
There are two methods for subscribing to these lists.
Method One:
Visit the Web site at http://listserv.pepperdine.edu; create a user account; and then use the Web-based screens to select the groups that you would like to join.
Method Two:
Send an email to listserv@listserv.pepperdine.edu. To join the C2C Finance discussion group, include the phrase “subscribe c2c-finance” in the body of the message. To join the C2C Human Resources discussion group, include the phrase “subscribe c2c-hr” in the body of the message. To join the C2C Student discussion group, include the phrase “subscribe c2c-student” in the body of the message.
Upon joining a group the individual will receive instructions by email on how to send messages to the list. Additionally, searchable archives of the groups will be available to subscribers at http://listserv.pepperdine.edu.
Please contact the IT Help Desk at 310-506-HELP (4357) if you have any questions.
