Portal Project Overview
The traditional view of campus community as simply those people present on campus is no longer realistic. The new portal redefines our community and allows us to reach a broader group of constituencies in new, relevant ways. Read more about the portal project overview.
Portal Pilot Overview
Each of Pepperdine’s five schools participated in a pilot test of the portal in February and March of 2006. Read more about the portal pilot test results.
Portal at the HEUG Conference

The PeopleSoft portal development team is excited about the upcoming pilot of the portal system. We understand that the success of any implementation is measured by how quickly a new application is adopted throughout the organization and are hoping this pilot will allow us to receive feedback on current development initiatives in the portal.
Each of Pepperdine’s five schools was asked to select representatives to perform various test case scenarios over a five week period beginning February 13, 2006. Pilot participants should continue to check the C2C Web site for information on the pilot project.

Portal Pilot Kickoff Presentation
The PeopleSoft portal implementation team has been finalized and we recently welcomed a new addition to the team. Thanh Nguy assumed the role of portal developer in October. He is an experienced PeopleSoft Developer and joins us from Cal State Northridge where he participated in many upgrades and implementations for applications such as HRSA, Financial & Supply Chain Management, and Enterprise Portal. Thanh and Philip Mathew, current Pepperdine employee, talented java developer and system administrator of the Blackboard Course Management system, will serve as the project’s portal developers implementing many of the services and applications outlined in the project plan.
Development work has started and is progressing well. To date, we have worked with the Web & Multimedia team to update the look and feel of the portal making sure that the new designs are consistent with the overall University Branding initiative. Those designs were recently implemented in the development environment and have been well received. We are currently working on enhancements to the Collaborative Workspace feature and hope to be finished by the end of October.
