In 2006, the University made the decision to undertake the implementation of a new computing platform for our administrative systems (PepperdineXpress, FRS, HRS, SIS). The implementation project is named C2C, representing the University’s goal to broaden its connections to expanded communities through a more dynamic computing platform. The PeopleSoft platform offers the support needed to perform basic tasks dependably, advance service to students, and move confidently toward the future.
The project began with the implementation of a new finance system and portal (WaveNet) in August 2006. In January 2007, the University implemented a new human resources and payroll system. Then, in August 2007, the University implemented Recruitment and Admissions as an initial phase of the new student system.
In February 2008, the Student Administration module for Advisement, Financial Aid, Student Financials, and Registration was implemented.
Each phase of the implementation has enhanced connections with the University community and, in turn, the way the community connects with the University. And, the implementation of the new student system allows staff to reach and serve a broader group of constituents in new, relevant ways.
In early 2008, the following changes were made:
Change #1: Online Student Financial Information
Students can now view and accept financial aid online. In the future, students will be able to view the status of their student account for the full term, not just the current tuition billing cycle.
Change #2: Dynamic Access to Student Information
Whether students, faculty, or staff want a detailed degree audit of academic progress, or a summary of current registration, the new student system makes this as easy as a few clicks away within WaveNet.
Change #3: Enhanced Registration Services
Students now register for classes from the Course Catalog search page. Students can create a registration “Wish List” where they plan and build their schedules for an upcoming term by saving selected classes to a staging area. Our new student system redefines self-service for students and puts more dynamic information and services at their fingertips.
Change #4: Single Sign On, One Stop Access
The new student system is only accessible from within WaveNet. This provides streamlined access to all information and services in a single, personalized place.
