Counseling Center

Prevention and Outreach Services

Staff Counselor Robert Scholz speaks during International NSO.

In addition to the many counseling services offered by the Counseling Center, an integral part of our mission is to work with students, student leaders and groups, as well as, faculty and staff on developing lifestyles that enhance mental health through prevention and outreach efforts on campus.

We believe you should develop personal responsibility for your mental health during your years at Pepperdine.  Staying healthy will benefit you personally, relationally, spiritually, and academically, both now and in the future.

Let us help you plan your next prevention program for residents. We have assisted staff, faculty, and students in planning and implementing creative, lively and fun-filled events on health topics such as sexuality, sexual assault prevention, alcohol and other drugs, stress reduction, nutrition and culture shock.

Examples of Outreach and Prevention Activities:

  • Classroom Presentations on Drugs and Alcohol
  • Residence Hall Information Sessions on Healthy Nutrition Practices
  • Depression Screening Days
  • Domestic Violence Prevention Roundtable Discussions
