H1N1 Virus [aka Swine Flu] ALERT

 
This page contains important information about the H1N1 Influenza, along with links to campus memoes and up-to-date Center for Disease Control [CDC] information.

Call the Student Health Center at 310-506-4316 opt. 3 or PEP-RN On-Call at (800) 413-0848 if it is after hours. For generl flu prevention call the Student Health Center to make an appointment or watch for advertising for flu clinics.

TO AVOID THE FLU:

  • Wash your hands frequently
  • Cough in your sleeve
  • Avoid close contact with those that are sick
  • If You Think You Have The Flu (Fever and Cough or Sore Throat):
  • Avoid going to class and work
  • Increase fluid intake and use over the counter medication as needed for symptoms

SEEK MEDICAL CARE IMMEDIATELY FOR:

  • Fever that lasts more then 3 to 5 days
  • Difficulty breathing or breathing quickly
  • Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
  • Sudden dizziness
  • Confusion
  • Severe or persistent vomiting
