H1N1 Virus [aka Swine Flu] ALERT
This page contains important information about the H1N1 Influenza, along with links to campus memoes and up-to-date Center for Disease Control [CDC] information.
Call the Student Health Center at 310-506-4316 opt. 3 or PEP-RN On-Call at (800) 413-0848 if it is after hours. For generl flu prevention call the Student Health Center to make an appointment or watch for advertising for flu clinics.
TO AVOID THE FLU:
- Wash your hands frequently
- Cough in your sleeve
- Avoid close contact with those that are sick
- If You Think You Have The Flu (Fever and Cough or Sore Throat):
- Avoid going to class and work
- Increase fluid intake and use over the counter medication as needed for symptoms
SEEK MEDICAL CARE IMMEDIATELY FOR:
- Fever that lasts more then 3 to 5 days
- Difficulty breathing or breathing quickly
- Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
- Sudden dizziness
- Confusion
- Severe or persistent vomiting
