Student Network/E-mail Accounts: Administration and Costs

Every Pepperdine student receives a network/e-mail account, which consists of a network ID, an e-mail address, and a password.

The format of a student network ID is the first letter of the first name, the first letter of the middle name, followed by the first six (6) letters of the last name, e.g., jqdoe.  Where like names would cause duplicate IDs, numbers are added.

Support for E-mail Redirects

Students may optionally request a permanent redirect of their “@pepperdine.edu” e-mail to a third-party e-mail account.  The “@pepperdine.edu” e-mail address shall remain the address of record for all official e-mail sent to the student by the University.  When redirecting e-mail, students are responsible for regularly checking the contents of their third-party e-mail accounts and changing their redirects should they switch to different third-party e-mail accounts.  To request a permanent redirect of e-mail, please contact the IT Help Desk at 1-310-506-HELP (4357).

Costs

There are currently no charges for setup or administration of student network/e-mail accounts.

Length of E-mail Account Use

A student's e-mail account will be maintained for 90 days beyond that student's last enrolled semester.

E-mail for Alumni

Students who have graduated may obtain a free, lifetime e-mail account through Pepperdine's Alumni Association.
