Remote Access to Pepperdine Network Resources

Using Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Connection (RDC) program, Pepperdine faculty and staff who use Macintosh and Windows computers can access Pepperdine network resources from an Internet connection.  They can remotely access:

  • Pepperdine’s Remote Access Server to run most commonly used programs that are licensed for use by Pepperdine University.  Most remote users will use only these instructions.
  • A Windows computer, that is powered on and connected to the Pepperdine network, to run any special programs that are either only on that Windows computer or not available on the Remote Access Server.  Some remote users will want to use these instructions.  (Note: If you choose to remotely log on to a Windows computer, you will also need the instructions for logging on to the Remote Access Server.)

RDC is built in to Windows XP computers.  See links below for Windows instructions.

Computer users running older versions of Windows (such as Windows 2000) may download the RDC client from this Microsoft Web site.

Macintosh OS X users may download the Macintosh RDC client.  Many of the following Windows instructions will also work for RDC use by a Macintosh.
