Network Information

Shared/Intra-Departmental (S) Network Disk Drive

The network disk drive designated with the letter "S" is network disk space for people inside a University department to use to store and share files with each other.

The basic amount of S drive space allotted to each University department is 1 gigabyte (GB) for which each department is charged $3.25 per month.  This charge will appear on the department's monthly telecommunication bill.

If your department needs more than 1GB of S drive space (or your department wants to reduce its S drive space), you can make those requests in 1GB increments on the Network Drive Space Request form.  Requests made through the form are automatically submitted to the appropriate IT department for you.  If you need assistance, call 310-506-HELP (4357).

Shared/Inter-Departmental (U) Network Disk Drive

The network disk drive designated with the letter "U" is network disk space for departments that want to store and share files with people in other departments.

U drives are not automatically allocated.  If your department wants to request initial or additional U drive space (or your department wants to reduce its U drive space), you can make those requests in 1GB increments on the Network Drive Space Request form.  Requests made through the form are automatically submitted to the appropriate IT department for you.  If you need assistance, call 310-506-HELP (4357).

U drive space is charged $3.25 per month for each 1 gigabyte (GB) increment.  This charge will appear on the department's monthly telecommunication bill.
