Setting up Your Offline Folder File in Outlook 2003
Notes:
1. This will not affect you unless you are using Outlook 2003.
2. You must be connected to the Pepperdine network.
The first or second time you run Outlook 2003 on your Windows computer, following the IT upgrade to the new server version of Exchange, Outlook might take you through the steps to set up an offline folder file. Here are those steps including images and your part in the process.
- Start Outlook 2003. A message appears indicating an offline folder file cannot be used. Click OK.

- A window appears showing the current name of the offline folder file.

- Change the end of the file name from "outlook.ost" to "youruserid.ost". Keep the rest of the name the same as it was. In the following example, the userid is "juser3". Then click OK.

- Because the offline folder file name you used cannot be found, a message to that effect appears. Click Yes.

- Now we need to get the actual Offline Address Book. In Outlook 2003, go to Tools > Send/Receive > Download Address Book. The following window appears.

- Click OK to download the address book and end this process.
