Technology Considerations When Hiring Employees
Information Technology (IT) offers the following list of technology-related items supervisors should consider for new employees.
- Complete a Network Resources Request to request any of the following items. (Complete the form for all new employees, regardless if they are coming from outside Pepperdine or are moving from another department.)
- Network printer access
- S: and U: network disk drive access
- Check the forms page to request other services
- Call the Help Desk if you cannot locate a way to request a service
- Call or visit Tech Central for help in purchasing computers & other related equipment
- Your department has your Photocopier access code
- Consider sending the new employee to Technology Training classes.
- A good source of technology information for all employees is the Technology Orientation Checklist which contains links to more in-depth technology information.
- Everyone needs to follow the University's Computer and Network Responsible Usage Policy.
- Self Help web pages are available if the new employee wants to help herself with an issue or just review the types of information published by Information Technology.
