Common Data Set
The Common Data Set (CDS) Initiative is a collaborative
effort between publishers and the educational community to improve the quality and
accuracy of information provided to all involved in a student's transition into
higher education. The Common Data Set (CDS) also helps reduce the burden on colleges
of compiling and reporting information. Questions and definitions used by the U.S.
Department of Education in its college surveys are a guide in the development of
CDS items.
Higher Education Opportunity Act
The Higher Education Opportunity Act (HEOA) requires institutions of higher education
to provide various statistics and links publicly. This web page represents OIE's
contribution to some of these requirements. Many of the required descriptions listed
below are satisfied by the information contained in the Common Data Set (CDS) section
of the OIE website and/or other Pepperdine websites.
